Job Description

Purpose/Description-

  • Possess general mechanical aptitude with specific skills related to general plumbing, electricity, light carpentry, commercial painting and commercial building maintenance. Ability to work any shift and weekends and call if necessary. Minimum of three years of healthcare facilities or major commercial building maintenance experience is required. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements

Education and Experience-

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Long-term on-the-job training

 

Licenses/Certifications-

  • Valid Oregon driver’s license.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship in commercial building (BOMA) and/or facility maintenance trade(s) preferred or equivalent

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties-

  • Mechanical, pneumatic or electrical equipment operation
  • Corrective and preventive equipment maintenance skills
  • Commercial Painting
  • Drywall and ceiling repair
  • Light Carpentry & repairs
  • Knowledge of general cleaning
  • Knowledge of plumbing repairs and installation
  • Ability to repair, replace, and maintain equipment
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools
  • Possess sound judgment. Works independently
  • Ability to work at varying heights &/or in confined areas
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Marginal Job Duties:

  • HVAC systems and equipment operation and maintenance
  • Light/Lamp/Ballast replacement
  • Snow & ice removal
  • Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Public & Customer relations
