Education and Experience
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required, some college education preferred.
License/ Certification:

Oregon State Certification required.
Experience:

Minimum of (1) one year hospital or retail technician experience preferred.

Must be able to stand for significant periods of time.

Must be able to perform moderate lifting functions and push somewhat heavy carts over carpeted surfaces.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:

Execute all job duties and responsibilities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, adhering to the scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy.

Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, while maintaining operational integrity by following hospital and pharmacy policies and procedures.

Manage pharmacy inventory by appropriately ordering and stocking supplies, verifying receipts, and removing expired medications from both the pharmacy and designated patient units.

Adhere to inventory management policies and diversion monitoring controls, promptly reporting any discrepancies to the supervising pharmacist.

Accurately input data into the pharmacy computer system and maintain all required documentation.

Repackage and label medications as necessary, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.

Prepare and deliver medications to nursing units and clinics with precision and in a timely manner.

Oversee the management and replenishment of medication stock in automatic dispensing machines across all patient care areas.

Conduct monthly inspections of nursing units and collect associated quality assurance data.

Uphold safety and cleanliness standards within the pharmacy by complying with established procedures, rules, and regulations.

Communicate effectively with team members to collaborate on incomplete tasks and ensure timely completion.

Display knowledge of hazardous materials and adhere to associated safety practices.

Demonstrate proficiency in hospital computer systems, software applications, and pharmacy equipment including automated dispensing units.

Communicate effectively in written form, maintain professional phone etiquette, and foster positive interactions with staff and colleagues.

Exhibit the ability to multitask and function effectively in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions.

Maintain consistent, regular, and punctual attendance at the designated work location.

Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
