Education and Experience-
Education:
-
High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
-
Currently unencumbered certified in the State of Oregon to practice as a CNA required.
-
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required at time of hire.
Experience:
-
One (1) year CNA experience preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities-
Essential Duties:
-
Ability to communicate needs verbalized by patient to supervising nurse.
-
Ability to observe, report and document patient status and the care or service furnished.
-
Able to accurately read and record temperature, pulse and respirations.
-
Ability to follow basic infection control procedures.
-
Able to understand and follow basic elements of good body mechanics.
-
Able to understand basic elements of body functioning and changes in body function that must be reported to supervising RN.
-
Regularly maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
-
Able to recognize emergencies and have knowledge of emergency procedures.
-
Able to perform safe techniques in personal hygiene and grooming that include; bathing, shampoo, skin care, oral hygiene, and elimination.
-
Demonstrates safe transfers and ambulating skills.
-
Monitor patient’s nutrition and fluid intake.
-
Completes all required online and in-person yearly education.
-
Completes required education outlined by the Oregon Board of Education.
-
Other duties as assigned.

Proficient in use of computer including MS Office applications.

• Must have basic computer knowledge, keyboarding skills, and office equipment.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and concerns easily while working in a busy, multidisciplinary setting.
• Ability to work both within a team setting and independently, utilizing time effectively with a minimum of supervision.
